The recent opening of Fiona Stanley Hospital and St John of God Midland Public Hospital ensure patients have access to excellent cancer care no matter where they live in the metropolitan area.

These services are complemented by existing services at the Comprehensive Cancer Centre at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital, Rockingham General Hospital and Joondalup Health Campus with specialist cancer care at Princess Margaret Hospital and King Edward Memorial Hospital.

The recent openings of Fiona Stanley Hospital in Murdoch and St John of God Midland Public Hospital combined with expanded paediatric care at Joondalup Health Campus, Armadale/Kelmscott Memorial Hospital, Rockingham General Hospital and Peel Health Campus mean that many more families can receive the care they need in their own community without travelling into the city centre.

Perth North: St John of God Midland Public Hospital is open

Swan District Hospital has permanently closed and free public hospital care for Midland and surrounding areas is now provided at St John of God Midland Public Hospital.

The 307-bed hospital includes an expanded emergency department and mental health services, new intensive care, cancer and coronary units, as well as improved maternity services.

Other emergency departments are located at Sir Charles Gairdner, Royal Perth, Princess Margaret, Fiona Stanley and Rockingham hospitals, Joondalup and Peel Health Campuses and Armadale Health Service.

Emergency department staff and services in all public hospitals across Perth will be busy this week.
